Water Filtration and Softeners for McKinney Homes, Tested First
We install whole-home filtration, water softeners, reverse osmosis and UV water treatment in homes across McKinney, Allen and Prosper. We start by testing the water at your tap, then plan a system that fits what comes out of it, with a simple plan for outages and boil-water notices. You get a clear plan and a quote by phone.
Four Systems, Matched to Your Water
We install whole-home filtration, water softeners, reverse osmosis and UV water treatment, and we only suggest what your test results support. Every installation is handled by subcontracted master-licensed plumbers, people who tie into home water lines all day. Our 1-year workmanship warranty on installation-related defects stands behind that work once it's in.

Whole-Home Filtration
One filter system on your main water line that takes out chlorine taste and sediment for every faucet, shower and appliance in the house.

Water Softeners
A softener sized to your actual hardness and household, set up so scale stops building in your pipes, fixtures and water heater.

Reverse Osmosis
An under-sink reverse osmosis system gives you clean water for drinking, coffee and cooking from its own faucet, without buying bottled water.

UV Water Treatment
A UV system kills bacteria and viruses as water enters your home, adding a backup barrier for times when a main break or storm upsets the city supply.
Why Homeowners Call Us
Bad weather and sudden problems are when a water system shows what it's made of. We set things up so you know what to do when the power flickers or the city sends a notice.
Plumbers handle every tie-in
The connections to your home's water line are made by subcontracted master-licensed plumbers. That means proper bypass valves, solid fittings and drain lines run the right way. It's the part of the job you can't see later, so it gets done right the first time.
One year on our workmanship
If a fitting starts to weep or a connection lets go because of how it went in, that's on us. You're covered by our 1-year workmanship warranty on installation-related defects, and we'll come back out to fix it.
A plan for the next storm
On install day, the plumber walks you to the bypass handle and explains the times you'd turn it. After a boil-water notice or a long outage, you'll know which filters to change and how to flush the lines. It takes five minutes to learn and saves a lot of guessing later.
No upsell on equipment
If your test says a carbon filter is all you need, that's what we quote. We'd rather sell you one system that fits than three you don't use.
Your home stays clean
Drop cloths go down, old parts leave with us, and the floor gets wiped before we go.
What Goes Into Your Quote
Every home is set up a little differently, so we do not post a price list. The total comes down to what your water needs and how much plumbing work is involved. Here is what we look at.
Once we test your water, you get a quote by phone with each part and each labor charge listed separately. Qualifying homes get standard professional installation included, which covers many jobs, and your quote tells you if yours is one of them.
- The right system
- A single under-sink reverse osmosis unit takes less work than a whole-home filter paired with a softener. Your test results tell us which one to quote.
- How much water you use
- A family of five with four bathrooms draws much more water at once than a couple in a small house. We size the system so the shower keeps its pressure while the dishwasher is going.
- Where it goes
- A garage with a plumbing loop already in place is quick. Moving the main line or squeezing into a tight closet takes more hours and more parts.
- Drain and power nearby
- Softeners and reverse osmosis units need a drain within reach, and UV needs an outlet. If either is missing, we put one in.
- Your current plumbing
- If the valves are stuck or the fittings at the connection point are corroded, they may need replacing first. We show you what we found before touching it.
- Filter upkeep
- Some systems need new cartridges a few times a year, while others run on media that lasts longer. We spell out the upkeep cost up front so it does not surprise you.

About Water Filtration McKinney
Water Filtration McKinney is a small outfit. We put four kinds of systems into homes here and in the nearby towns: whole-home filtration, softeners, reverse osmosis and UV treatment. That's the whole list, and keeping it short means we know each one inside and out.
Most worried calls we get come right after bad weather. A hard freeze or a spring storm knocks out power, a notice goes out, and nobody's sure the filter is still doing its job. So every install comes with a simple plan for those days, and we stay a phone call away when they come.

How a Job Runs
Most of the work happens before anything gets installed. Here's what to expect from the first call on.
- 1
You call and we talk it through
Tell us what's bothering you: chlorine taste, spots on the glass shower door, worry after a storm. We set a time to come out.
- 2
We test your water at the tap
We run a water test in your home and go over the water report with you. You see the numbers yourself, not just our summary of them.
- 3
You get a plain quote
We explain what the results mean and what system, if any, makes sense. The quote lists parts and labor so you can compare it fairly.
- 4
Installation day
The plumber shuts off the water, installs the system with a bypass and checks for leaks under pressure. We flush the lines, clean up and show you how it all works.
- 5
Help when things change
After a hard freeze, an outage or a city notice, reach us by phone and we'll tell you what to do with your system. Filter changes can go on your calendar before we leave.

Questions We Hear Most
- What should I do with my filter after a boil-water notice?
- Put the system in bypass while the notice is active and boil water for drinking as the city advises. Once the notice is lifted, flush your lines and change the carbon or sediment cartridges, since they may have trapped what came through. Reverse osmosis units usually need a new prefilter and a full tank flush. We walk you through all of this on installation day, and you can reach us by phone if you're unsure.
- Do I really need a water softener?
- Not always. Some homes have water hard enough to leave scale on fixtures and shorten the life of a water heater, and a softener helps there. Others don't need one. We test your water first and only recommend a softener if the numbers back it up.
- Will reverse osmosis take care of lead from old pipes?
- Reverse osmosis is one of the better ways to reduce lead at a drinking water tap. It treats the water at one faucet, usually the kitchen sink, which is where you drink and cook. If your test or your home's plumbing raises a lead question, we'll talk through whether an under-sink unit makes sense.
- What does UV water treatment do?
- A UV system passes water past an ultraviolet lamp that keeps bacteria and other microbes from multiplying. It doesn't remove chemicals or minerals, so it's usually paired with a filter. It needs power to work, which is why we talk about what happens during an outage before we install one.
- How long does an install take, and will I lose water?
- Your water is shut off while the plumber makes the connections, and it comes back on for leak checks and flushing. How long that takes depends on the system and where it goes. We give you an expected timeframe when we go over your quote, so you can plan your day around it.
- Is there a warranty on the install?
- Yes. Installation-related defects are covered under a 1-year workmanship warranty. If a part we put in leaks or fails because of how it went in, we come back out and fix it.
- Do I have to buy anything after the water test?
- No. We go over the results with you, explain what they mean and give you a quote if a system makes sense. What you do next is up to you, and there's no pressure either way.
